Born on July 13th, 1942
US actor celebrated for his role as Indiana Jones
Thanks to his collaboration with George Lucas—the first movie director to provide him with the opportunity of successfully displaying his acting skills—Harrison Ford became an international star, more especially in his role as Indiana Jones. This fictional character was an adventurer and professor of archaeology created by George Lucas. Four movies were devoted to his adventures, all directed by Steven Spielberg: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), and Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull (2008). The saga stretches over the 1930s and the 1950s. It tells the story of Professor Jones, who travels round the world seeking legendary relics while coming up against a range of myths and beliefs.
For a number of years now, Harrison Ford has made use of his fame to help protect nature and to sharpen overall sensitivity to the problem of tropical deforestation.
