Hockey player from Quebec (Canada)
Jean Béliveau, nicknamed “Gros Bill” (Big Bill) for his impressive size, won 10 Stanley Cups with the Canadiens de Montréal including five as captain. A fast and powerful skater, he has been – and will continue to be – a role model to generations of hockey players. Béliveau scored many goals throughout his career and racked up 1219 points in 1125 regular season games in the National Hockey League. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972 after management decided to waive the three-year waiting period after retirement.
