Born on November 11th, 1974
American actor and producer
Leonardo DiCaprio was born in Hollywood in 1974. While still a child, he appeared in advertising spots and, as an adolescent, he picked up some difficult roles on the American independent cinema circuit. But it was with his subsequent films such as Baz Luthmann's Romeo + Juliet, and more especially James Cameron's Titanic that he acquired his planet-wide star status. The top moviemakers fought over him, including Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, and Ridley Scott… And DiCaprio used these opportunities to rid himself of his romantic hero profile, by taking on more mature roles and demonstrating the full range of his phenomenally wide repertoire.
From Gangs of New-York to Inception, along with Catch me if you can and The Aviator, Leonardo has fully demonstrated that even if the "DiCaprio mania" is over and done with, he has been and will continue to be part of the movie lovers' world.
