Born on October 5th, 1965
Hockey player from Quebec (Canada)
Patrick Roy played goaltender for the Canadiens de Montréal and the Colorado Avalanche. He won two Stanley Cups with each franchise. Hailed as one of the greatest goalies of all time he was the first to practice the butterfly style of goaltending. Since then this approach has become very popular and the vast majority of NHL goalies favour it. Now retired, “Saint Patrick” has been the owner and head coach of the Quebec Remparts since 2005.
