Come and meet one of the most charismatic and greatest baseball players to have made a career in Montreal: Gary Carter.
”We are very honoured to welcome in our museum this legendary player who made history in the world of baseball and in the city of Montreal”, said Grévin Montreal’s General Manager, Kathleen Payette. “With the full support of the Carter family – including Mrs. Sandy Carter, his wife for over 37 years – and some valuable collaborators from the baseball world, we are reconstituting the character mainly from photographs,” explained the General Manager.
“I’m very touched by this homage. Montreal always loved Gary very much and the city always made our family feel at home. The presence of his wax figure at Grévin Montreal will certainly honour his memory for years and generations to come,” said Sandy Carter.
Gary Carter was a true baseball hero in the 80s. Nicknamed The Kid due to his legendary smile, and because he played every game with a child's passion, Carter was one of the top ten catchers of all the time. He is one of the sixteen catchers admitted to the Baseball Hall of Fame and the first player of the Montreal Expos to have been inducted there. Above all, Gary Carter was deeply loved and admired by Quebeckers.
